easing into autumn.

i've been neglecting my blog-baby. to catch up, here's yesterday's recipe:
  • 1 part navy, slim & cropped, with scuba seams
  • 1 part pleated chambray
  • 1 part ruffled teal
  • ...and just a smidgen of mustard
mix & enjoy.
happy thursday, friends!

i get to wear a scarf, too

happy friday, all! yesterday, our top closet shelf fell down. i have to dig in piles on the floor for all tops until our maintenance guy comes. hence, a outfit thrown together, but tied together with hints of goldenrod. periwinkle sweater, black skirt, golden silk scarf (yes, it's still over 90 here, but i really wanted to wear a scarf), gold cuff and curry shoes.

In between weather / primary colors.

A friend didn't approve of the sandals with the tights... but the day was experimental. And sandals being hidden away in boxes for months makes a mal sad.

And I really do wear a scarf everyday. The proverbial cat is out of the bag...MARU!

project ottoman complete!

hi, friends-

yesterday marked the delivery of my last ottoman from what i jokingly called "project ottoman." way back in may, m & i greatly debated the merits of coffee tables versus ottomans. for our current space, it made better sense to go with the additional seating ottomans provide, and place trays on ottomans for the table aspect. so that aside...m said i could blog about color coupling in my home as well. new living room is heather gray, whiskey, and pear green with a splash of cream. it's calming, crisp and neutral and we're loving it. a certain party who shall remain nameless didn't believe in the coordination of a brown chair and a gray sofa, but i had faith, nay knowledge in those colors' ability to get it on.

happy wednesday!

honeycrisp

saturday at the orchard called for a comfortable combination of worn denim, green & navy plaid, and my favorite scarf in salmon.

happy fall!

blush & bashful

while this outfit is not pink & pink as the title indicated, the soft, muted tones reminded me of the shelby's wedding color palette from steel magnolias. ivory, dusty lavender and peach combine to form this vintage-inspired look. happy weekend!

old + new. orange + blue.

today's self challenge: wear all old clothes and combine in a new way. new accessories allowed :) you can't see it, but i also fit in abercrombie burgundy cords from 2002!
